Wayne Easlea, appointed as Operations Director at KLM UK Engineering
Paris, Amstelveen, Norwich, 10 September 2015 – Wayne Easlea has been appointed Operations Director of KLM UK Engineering Limited, a wholly owned AFI KLM E&M subsidiary specialising in maintenance solutions for regional and narrow body aircraft fleets.
Wayne started his aviation career at KLM UK Engineering (formerly Air UK Engineering) in 1990 as an aircraft maintenance apprentice. After graduating he worked as a licensed Technician and then as a Supervisor in Base Maintenance. In 1998 he moved to Amsterdam to lead a Line Maintenance team of 10. Upon his return to the UK in 2001 Wayne joined the management team, initially as an Aircraft Maintenance Project Manager and then to the role of Production Support Manager. Since then Wayne has managed the Materials, Stores and Base Maintenance departments and held EASA Form 4 responsibility. Wayne has a wealth of experience within the company and the industry and will be a great addition to the team.
On learning of his appointment, Wayne Easlea said: “I am very proud to be appointed Operations Director of KLM UK Engineering Limited. I hope that the knowledge and experience acquired throughout my 25 year career will have a positive impact on the company and its clients. KLM UK Engineering is an outstanding company with extensive experience and know-how in regional fleet maintenance, specialising in Boeing 737, Airbus A320, BAe146/RJ and Fokker aircraft. My main objective is to continue the delivery of quality maintenance and value to our customers and to further develop our capability on new aircraft types.”
KLM UK Engineering Hosts the Prime Minister at their Norwich Facility
KLM UK Engineering were pleased to welcome the Prime Minister to their Norwich based facility today. He met with the Senior Management Team and current & ex-apprentices and also had the opportunity to see, first hand our engineers at work in the hangars.
KLM UK Engineering Limited - Win Third Place at Aviation Cup
KLM UK Engineering Limited (KLMUKE) took part in Eastern Airways Aviation Cup 5 Aside Tournament on Saturday 11th July in Derby
36 teams played from the airline & aviation industry and KLM UK Engineering Limited finished third, a great result for their first tournament! They played 10 matches, only loosing 1 and went onto win third & forth place play-off. The team were presented with a team/company trophy and individual trophies. KLM UK Engineering Limited looks forward to the 2016 tournament and retaining a place in the top three!

KLM UK Engineerig expands its line maintenance activities within the UK
Paris, Amstelveen, Norwich, 16 June 2015 – KLM UK Engineering has signed a 3 year contract with British Airways’ wholly owned subsidiary BA CityFlyer,to take over the line maintenance for its Embraer E170 & 190 fleet in Edinburgh. Andy Mackay, Operation Director adds, ‘We are pleased to be building on our expanding line maintenance portfolio within the UK and look forward to a long term relationship and future work with BA CityFlyer’. KLM UK Engineering has had a line maintenance station at Edinburgh for over 25 years and is pleased to expand its customer base to include BA CityFlyer. During 2014 KLM UK Engineering welcomed an extensive growth to its line maintenance in the UK and operates supporting hubs at major UK airports.
About BA CityFlyer - Launched on 5th March 2007, BA CityFlyer is a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways operating a network of UK domestic and European services from LondonCity airport. We have expanded our aircraft fleet and route network at LondonCityAirport where we are now officially the largest operator with the highest number of destinations and customers. This year British Airways serves 29 destinations from London City Airport, of which 26 are operated by BA CityFlyer and are perfect options for both business and leisure travel. KLM UK Engineering has been awarded Apprenticeship Employer of the Year for Large Company (over 250 staff) by City College Norwich at their annual Apprenticeship Awards

Paris, Amstelveen, Norwich – 6 March 2015 – KLM UK Engineering is pleased to have been awarded the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) Accreditation for Aircraft Disassembly.
Building on the existing EASA Part 145/147 & FAA 145 Approval and the UK Environment Agency Approval, KLM UK Engineering operates a purpose built disassembly facility delivering a quality product.
Norwich based KLM UK Engineering, which is part of Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, has over 40 year’s experience in aircraft maintenance. KLM UK Engineering operates a 5 bay heavy maintenance facility, a disassembly and recycling centre, a network of line stations and a technical training college. As such, KLM UK Engineering offers support for the entire aircraft lifecycle.
