KLM UK Engineering Limited (KLMUKE) & KLM Cityhopper (KLC) are delighted to be presenting University Technical College (UTC) Norfolk with a rebuilt ex-Fokker 70 Rolls Royce Tay620 Engine, which will be displayed in the facility’s auditorium. The engine flew 26 years of revenue service at different airlines, and since 1996 operated for KLM Cityhopper (formerly Air-UK / KLM-UK). The next host for the engine will be the International Aviation Academy in Norwich, which will receive the engine early 2017 when the new facility is commissioned.

With 5 fully equipped modern heavy maintenance bays across 3 hangars and over over 40 years of experience on many aircraft types, including Embraer 170/190, Boeing 737 All Series, Airbus A320 Family, BAe 146 & Avro RJ and Fokker 70/100 types, KLM UK Engineering Limited (KLMUKE) has a solid customer base. Included in our capability and experience is the ability to carry out heavy modifications either at our Norwich facility or at the operator’s home base.
There is an extensive on-site Workshop supporting all base maintenance activities, delivering a high quality of modifications, repairs, overhaul, NDT, Paint Shop, Trim Bay, Composite and component repairs.
KLM UK Engineering Limited (KLMUKE) has been based at Norwich Airport for 40 years and employs approximately 370 people and provides line maintenance support throughout the UK. The Company prides itself on having an experienced and skilled work force, delivering a superior service and high quality product at a competitive price.
KLM UK Engineering Limited (KLMUKE) has an on-site Part 147 Technical Training College delivering BSc (Hons) Professional Aviation Engineering Practice, Aviation Engineering, EASA CAT A, B1.1 & B2 Type Training / Basic courses, Compliance and e-learning training.

Paris, Amstelveen, Norwich – 13 November 2015 – KLM UK Engineering Limited is delighted to announce that they have been awarded overall winners of Performance in Aviation Safety at the Baines Simmons Fourth European Aviation Safety Symposium on Tuesday 3rd November. The awards showcased the importance of moving beyond compliance to safety performance by illustrating practical examples of safety implementation and improvement from across the aviation industry
KLM UK Engineering Limited (KLMUKE) was nominated for these awards by Alex Segens, Safety & Compliance Manager, who has been instrumental in the implementation of KLM UK Engineering Limited’s Safety Management System. KLM UK Engineering Limited started development of its Safety Management System in 2007 and over the last two years has put dedicated resource in place to embed its safety vision, values and behaviours across the business, with an internal brand recognisable by all ‘Accountable in everything we do’. KLM UK Engineering Awarded Exclusive Heavy Maintenance Contract for CityJet BAe Avro RJ85
Paris, Amstelveen, Norwich – 26 May 2015 – KLM UK Engineering is pleased to announce that they have been awarded the exclusive CityJet multi year contract to perform heavy maintenance on their BAe Avro RJ85 aircraft.
KLM UK Engineering has been working with CityJet for over 20 years on their fleet and is delighted to have been awarded the work on this product. Arjan Meijer, the Managing Director of KLM UK, said: ‘Building on the many years of relationship with CityJet we are pleased to be able to continue work on their fleet. We have great experience on the BAe Avro RJ85 product and are confident we can deliver excellent service. The maintenance contract started in April 2015 and we hope to continue our partnership for many years to come.’

KLM UK Engineering Limited accepts Innovation Award on behalf of the NIAA at the UKTI Investment Awards 2015
Arjan Meijer, Managing Director at KLM UK Engineering Limited, accepts the Innovation Award at the UKTI Investment Awards Dinner 2015. The UKTI Investment Awards dinner was celebrating Dutch companies that have invested or expanded their operations in the UK during the 12 months up until June 2015. The innovation category is an investment project that either brings something new to the market or approaches a sector in an original manner.
The award was in relation to International Aviation Academy Norwich (IAAN) project which represents a ground-breaking partnership between KLM UK Engineering Limited, Norwich Airport, Aviation Skills Partnership, University of East Anglia and City College Norwich, supported by investment from the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and local government, to secure a pipeline of trained aviation professionals to support the skills needs of the local economy and wider aviation sector.
